About Api Base Camp Trek- 15 Days

For the ultimate adventure off the beaten track, Api Base Camp is a great combination of culture, wilderness, and a challenge. This trek takes you through an unadulterated contrast of many terrains and authentic wilderness far from modern civilization. Set to the backdrop of the Api Nampa Conservation Area, expect to see the great Mahakali Valley, steep gorges, wild rivers, waterfalls, pristine sub-tropical forests, high alpine pasture areas, and the Himalayan mountains on the spectacular trek.

The uttermost feature of this trek is the spectacular view of the snowcapped Api Himal mountain which stands at a towering 7132m – the highest mountain in the far western region of Nepal. The people in this region are a mix of both Hindu and Buddhist cultures and exhibit a way of life untouched by modernity. Given the remoteness and low frequency of tourists in this area, camping is required because lodging cannot be guaranteed.

Api Base Camp trek is challenging – expect to trek for up to 9-10 hours a day in remote landscapes that involve steep trails and exhilarating passes. A good level of fitness and experience is recommended.
